                Worthy Kennels Stud Policy

Requirements:

*A brucellosis test by a licensed veterinarian within the last month with no intervening
breeding between when the test was done and bitch arriving for breeding with our stud.
*A copy of the bitch's up-to-date vaccination records.
*A copy of the hip and elbow
official OFA or foreign certifications.  An OFA Prelim may be
acceptable, please inquire first.
*A copy of your registration papers.
*You must be the owner of the bitch,
or a copy of a valid lease contract must be
supplied.

The stud fee is due at the time of breeding.
If the bitch does not become pregnant, then
she may be returned for a free second
breeding.  If the bitch does not conceive on
the second breeding, a veterinarian's report must be supplied concerning the bitch's fertility,
vaginal culture done, and a full report of any issues as to why she did not conceive before a
third breeding will be attempted.

If the bitch does not deliver at least two living puppies, you may return for a free re-breeding.
Worthy Kennels is not obligated to return a stud fee.

The bitch must go home three days after
the bitch refuses the stud, or a fee of $10
a day boarding fee will be accrued, unless
arrangements have been made by the bitch
owner before the three days are up.

Females approved for breeding must be
registered, be of working value, have a good
pedigree, have no disqualifying faults, and a
good enough conformation.  Examples of
disqualifying flaws:  White dogs, excessive
white on the body (small spots of white on the
chest are not objectionable), ears that do not
stand, gay tail, etc.  I would consider an exceptional long stock coat for breeding to my stud
dogs, as I feel that the long coat has a place in the GSD genetic pool.
A working title is to be preferred, but a well-bred female with a good pedigree may be
acceptable.

A dog who is a family protective companion is doing a job that does not convey a title in the
working dog world, but it is an honest and even critical job for a dog to fulfill.  If such a dog
displays the proper temperament and has a good pedigree, we will consider allowing her to
breed to our stud after viewing her, her pedigree, and conferring with the owner.

***Please warn us of any behavioral problems of the bitch, for instance: if she is a climber, an
escape artist, is aggressive towards cats or other dogs, etc, so that appropriate precautions
may be taken for the safety of your visiting female.  If we are not warned
in writing, in the case
of an unfortunate accident, you are responsible, and Worthy Kennels refuses liability for it as
we were not warned.  We want your visiting girl to be as safe and happy as we can possibly
make her while she is away from home and being romanced by our handsome stud dog.  :-)
